Momsen, Olsen, Lowe.

Only a week away until GG Season 2 begins. The Insider has already broke down the 1st episode if you can't wait for it. Already sharing the same limelight with Blake & Leighton, Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humprey of Gossip Girl) had recently signed a contract with IMG Modelling (the same agency that manages Gemma Ward, I think).“It’s been such a big part of my life, models and fashion, so it’s really exciting to enter that world. It’s a whole different ballgame,” Momsen commented.

The upcoming Olsen twins' book, Influence, will have a double cover. So again, we can sort of go for Team Ashley or Team MK (just like Teen Vogue did in 2006). The book will be released in October 28th (USA) and it features interviews with fashion personality like Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin, Margherita Missoni, dVb, etc.

And good morning, that's Daisy Lowe in the Converse "Get Chucked" ads.

Korean Style

I have a slight fascination with magazines in foreign language I don't understand. A few times I've read or rather, flip through French magazines like Jalouse & Blast while trying to understand the caption & articles.

So Lindsay Lohan made a stylish comeback via the first issue of Nylon Korea (launched 18th Aug), photographed by Nylon editor himself. Although the styling & clothes receives a good comeback, Nylon gets criticism for choosing LiLo to be in the cover.

Another Korean magazine that I've been looking at is Vogue Girl. It's like the Teen Vogue of Korea. Their cover reminds me of Elle Girl (folded). They do have some amazing fashion spread
that makes you want to go to dreamland. Also, they happen to feature a lot of interesting stuff from the blogosphere - ranging from fashion, illustration to handmade accesories. Love them.

Here's the link, so your procrastination can start now...

Teen Vogue Sept'08

This issue is my comeback issue to Teen Vogue. I stopped buying Teen Vogue regularly few months ago because I simply don't have the money...

I thought Vanessa Hudgens was wearing a berret for the Teen Vogue covershoot. Until I got the actual copy and stared into it for a long one minute before I realized the berret is her hair, styled in such a way that it resembles a berret. Duh.
I probably had a dejavu from last year Teen Vogue September issue where Anna Hathaway did had a berret on.

This year's Fall issue is 70 pages thinner than last year's; but again, maybe last year issue had more ads. I didn't count.

A lot of the A-Z Fall Fashion is cramped into half page with little report details. Not fun. Room of My Own doesn't make the cut in this issue as well.
Anything special from the issue? Hmm, not really. Not that I have found one yet in the past few hours...

Now, attention, muggles, these aren't in your local paper...

The release date of Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince is pushed back all the way July 17th, 2009 from the original plan in November.

Blake Lively, Shia LaBeouf, Orlando Bloom, Rachel Bilson, Natalie Portman, Ethan Hawke, Scarlett Johansonn in one world, one dream one movie.
Yes, star-loaded New York, I Love You, the sequel to the award winning movie Paris, J'etaime, would be released in February 13th, 2009. The movie follows the same style to Paris, J'etaime that combines a few different love stories and of course, those many famous actors in one movie.
Paris, New York, and later, off they go to Shangai (2010).

Last year, I was smitten to a broadway musical called Spring Awakening. The lead actor, Jonathan Groff, has just left the production to concentrate on his role in other production and replacing him in the role is Weeds' Hunter Parrish. I'll be keeping my eye on YouTube (you know, how it's Broadway and never made its way to Down Under. Ack.)

Alrighty, I shall now go back to scrutinize Teen Vogue.

Yen #34: Clémence Poésy on Cover

French beauty, Clémence Poésy, graces the cover of Yen latest issue.

She is taking the glossy world slowly by surely, I must say. Featured on Nylon earlier this year with Chloe Sevigny and Anja Rubik. She also had appeared in a number of other fashion magazines; just recently in Blast, a French mag, looking very fairy-ish. But too bad it was a two-page spread so she kinda get folded in the mag.

In the magazine, Poésy talks about her upcoming movie with Oscar winner Martin McDonagh and Collin Farrell and everything else related to her acting career.

Yen's Spring issue highlights anxiety disorders affecting women, reflect on the Polaroids during its glory days and discuss the boundary within art (Bill Henson issue once more).

I still contemplate if she somehow had the 'Olsen-twins effect' in that picture... But it's giving Yen a boost in their cover look, I guess?
